                                       HTML5

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML5_video
HTML5 video is intended by its creators to become the new standard way to show video on the web without plugins, instead of the previous de facto standard of using the proprietary Adobe plugin.
The HTML5 specification does not specify which video formats browsers should support. User agents are free to support any video formats they feel are appropriate, but content authors cannot assume that any video will be accessible by all complying user agents, since user agents have no minimal set of video formats to support.
The HTML5 Working Group considered it desirable to specify at least one video format which all user browsers.

                                    QUICKTIME

Quicktime is a multimedia development, storage, and playback technology from Apple. Quicktime files combine sound, text, animation, and video in a single file. Using a Quicktime player that either comes with a Web browser or can be downloaded from Apple or the browser company, you can view and control brief multimedia sequences.

                                                         VLC MEDIA

Is a free and open source media player and multimedia framework written by the VideoLAN project. VLC is a portable multimedia player, encoder, and streamer supporting many audio and video codecs and file formats as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. It is able to stream over networks and to transcode multimedia files and save them into various formats. VLC used to stand for VideoLAN Client, but since VLC is no longer simply a client, that initialize no longer applies.

ADOBE TV

Can learn and watch how to use photoshop correctly, watch trending video's, see the designers and workers of photo shop use tutorials.
Can watch 'Episodes' and 'Shows'
Can also have videos in translations, and have the offer to buy and purchase products by adobe such as photoshop.

                           ADOBE FLASH PLAYER

Source: http://searchcio.techtarget.com/definition/Adobe-Fla

Adobe Flash Player is software used to stream and view video, audio and multimedia and Rich Internet Applications (RIA) on a computer or supported mobile device.
Flash Player runs SWF files, an Adobe Flash file format for displaying "animated" Vector graphics. on the Web. SWF file formats allow audio, video and several other possible forms of interaction with the end user. Once files are created, they can be played by the Adobe Flash Player, working either as a browser plugin or as a standalone player.

                                                            Differences
Differences between these programs are VLC allows you to play different file formats and it's portable, free and can compress file sizes.
Quicktime allow's you to combine files with audio and text.
AdobeTV allow's you to purchase products and translate videos which none of the others do.
HTML5 don't use plugins, supports any file format and very accessible.

 Task 1A

The theory of sound is pitch, DB, wavelengths, and different types of frequencies.
Frequency is the measurement of the number of times that a repeated event occurs per unit of time. The frequency of wave patterns of sound expresses the number of cycles of the waveform per second.

DB is short for decibel which is a unit used to measure a sound.

Pitch is the quality that allows us to classify a sound as 'high ' & 'low'. Pitch is determined by the frequency of sound soundwave vibrations.

MP3 is when you compress a larger sequence file into a very small file, to allow digital storage.

WAV is a form of microsoft and IBM audio file format standard for storing an audio bitstream. Eg - computers.

OSS is short for operational support system, which means its a set of programs that help a communications service provider monitor control, analyse and manage a telephone or computer network.

Mid - is a file format which is helpful to transfer data between applications mainly used by developers allowing them to play various files.
The files contain various parameters like notation, control signals and pitch.

Task 1B

Sound waves transfers energy from one place to another without matter.
They consist of disturbances transferring energy in the direction the waves travel.

Waveform -  A curve showing the shape of a wave at a given time.
The most familiar AC waveform is the sine wave, which derives its name from the fact that the current or voltage varies with the sine of the elapsed time. ( Example from Google)

Wavelengths:  The distance the distance the distance between successive crests of a wave, especially points in a sound wave or electromagnetic wave.

The crest-to-crest (or some comparable) distance between two waves.

Amplitude: the maximum extent of a vibration or oscillation, measured from the position of equilibrium.
Frequency: the rate per second of a vibration constituting a wave, either in a material (as in sound waves), or in an electromagnetic field (as in radio waves and light).
Pitch: the quality of a sound governed by the rate of vibrations producing it; the degree of highness or lowness of a tone.
Sound Generator: Is a vibrating object which produces a sound. There are two main kinds of sound generators. ( e.g.- instruments.)
  1. Analog: a comparison between one thing and another, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification.

    Task1C

Task 1D:
Film clip - http://youtu.be/_IZCuGEJ6h0
Scene from Angus thongs and perfect snogging.

Throughout this whole clip there is multiple music choices and sound effects to match the scenario of the scene which is being performed.
For example when the clip first starts the teenage girls are all hidden behind a wall and a beat of slow mischievous music is in the background, this sets the scene and gets the viewers attention easy.
Before  (the girl who rings the door bell) the music gets really high pitched and the pace of the mischievous beat gets quicker, asoon as the door is opened the music instantly drops into a slow pace but still a high pitched noise and then fades out with a slow and bumpy beat whistle the characters are talking.
When Georgia walks into this boys room there is a dull few seconds of a low beat music being played.
When Georgia and the boy are sitting on the bed there is a romance song playing faintly in the background while they are preparing themselves on their kissing session.
When they have their first kiss the music beat and sound level stays the same however when they get to the 'snogging' the music which was playing from the first kiss is still continuing to be played but once their lips touch, the music instantly picks up and the pitch of the volume is being increased rapidly throughout their snog.
Their is sound effects from the timer going off in the background constantly as a high digital pitched noise is being played along with shots of a digital timer clock rapidly decreasing in time while the pair are continually snogging along to the pitched noise along with the music.
As the timer is rapidly going down the music changes various times to quite childing fast paced music to show that this isn't meant to be a romantic scene and to let the audience know that what Georgia and this boy are doing isn't serious and that they are taking nothing away from this experiance.
When the digital timer runs out, there is a sound effect of slobber being dribbled out from Georgias mouth and the boys mouth. This sound effect enhances the scene to be 'gross' and can instantly take any romance which could be felt even through the childish music to be taken away instantly!
As Georgia is leaving the boys house, when the door is opened for her to exit the music being played is a fast drum upbeat, as her close friend Elle is next to kiss the boy. When Elle says 'Hi Georgia' Georgia gives a confused look with a sarcastic 'Hi Elle' back.
The few last seconds of the clip is a high whistling beat which shows that Georgia enjoyed her first experience at kissing a boy.

Uses of web animation.

Flash banner advertisement.

Purpose of this ad is to inform the audience and sell the product.

Programming is html5

Used with action script as there are buttons.

Standard flash banner size 728x90.

The banner does seem to take up a pretty big chunk of the screen so when you click on youtube it's the
first thing your eyes are drawn to.
The text in the banner is actually very small and hard to read however, there is a video included.

The assets are vector images and do not blur since you want a clear advertisement to sell the item.

Slideshow Advertisement.

Purpose of this ad is to inform people on weather news and keep them up to date and a catch up of previous storms which people may find interesting.

This slide show is created on Flash banner and has buttons included therefore you can change change the slide whenever you want and also programmed to change the slides on its own after a few seconds.

The text on the image takes up nearly half of the page and is in bold text and clear to read.

This advertisement has action script in it to create the movements.
These images are probably vector images since you're not made to zoom into them.

Pop up advertisement.

Purpose of this ad is to draw the viewer in since they cannot explore the page without seeing this ad  and clicking on or off it.

This was created on flash banner with action script with included buttons.

The pop up takes up a really big amount of the screen with clear and big writing so you read the whole advertisement, you also have a big image of the websites logo so you can be reassured it isn't a virus which is popping up.
The image is raster as it's a pixelated cartoon and when zooming in the image will loose quality.

---------------

Conclusion.

the different between the three are all the different colours and font used, the last one is more of an alerting banner while the other ones are on the page and you can have a choice to look at them longer.
The colour's are very different from one another since the Youtube banner has a various range of mainly white and blacks while the slide show has many different ranges of all sorts on each slide, and the last pop up banner is just black, white and green.
The interactivity on all three and different since the Youtube banner is an onscreen repeated banner while the slide show vary's and allows you to change the slides, the pop up ad is on screen for the limited amount of time you chose for it to be as you are given the option to click off the ad and continue on the website.
The target audience for the youtube samsung phone ad are for working adults since the phone is very expensive to purchase a teenager who's in school/college or got a low wage job couldn't afford to pay.

Advantages and Disadvantages of raster and vector images.

Vector images advantages.

Data can be represented at its original resolution and form without generalisation.

Since most data, e.g. hard copy maps, is in vector form no data conversion is required.

Allows for efficient encoding of topology, and as a result more efficient operations that require topological information, e.g. proximity, network analysis.

Disadvantages vector images.

The location of each vertex needs to be stored explicitly.

Continuous data, such as elevation data, is not effectively represented in vector form. Usually substantial data generalization or interpolation is required for these data layers.

Raster data advantages.

Due to the nature of the data storage technique data analysis is usually easy to program and quick to perform.

Discrete data, e.g. forestry stands, is accommodated equally well as continuous data, e.g. elevation data, and facilitates the integrating of the two data types.

Raster data disadvantages

The cell size determines the resolution at which the data is represented.

It is especially difficult to adequately represent linear features depending on the cell resolution. Accordingly, network linkages are difficult to establish.
